文昌帝君

全稱文昌梓潼帝君,本是號稱蜀王的張育,與梓潼的地方神「亞子」兩位人物合併而成的神明。東晉寧康二年(公元374年),蜀人張育,起兵抗擊前秦苻堅,英勇戰死。文昌帝君除有起義戰死、忠君救民之功績外,《梓潼帝君化書》稱,張亞子「生及冠,母病疽重,乃為吮之,並於中夜自割股肉烹而供,母病遂痊。」因此,文昌帝君也是慈祥孝親的楷模。後值瘟疫流行,文昌帝君得到「神授以《大洞仙經》並法籙,謂可治邪祛瘟,行之果驗」。另外,相傳文昌帝君在梓潼七曲山祖廟隱修時,遇見五瘟神欲來散行瘟疫,為了保護民眾,於是他化身為瘟祖大神,面貌威武果敢,一手持寶劍(或如意),另一手變為鷹爪,因而降伏五瘟神。《文昌帝君陰騭文》稱,文昌帝君曾十七次化身人間,世為士大夫,為官清廉,從未酷民,同秋霜白日之高潔不可侵。「濟人之難,救人之急,憫人之孤,容人之過,廣行陰騭,上格蒼穹」。因此,天帝命文昌帝君掌天曹桂籍文昌之事。凡人間之鄉舉里選,服色祿秩,封贈奏予等等,都歸文昌帝君管理。
民間信仰相信文昌君,是保護文運與考試的神祇。文昌帝君的陪祀神為「天聾」、「地啞」兩位書僮打扮的神祇,代表著「天機不可洩漏」、「文運人不能知」、「文人須謙卑少言」等意義。

God of culture and literature was depicted as a man by the name Zhang Yazi, of a county in Sichuan Province called Zitong. In Taoist, we believe in reincarnations, and God of culture and literature had reincarnated for several times. A notable account of an appearance of him was a leader to against Emperor Fu Jian but had died in that rebellion. Not only been remembered as a warrior, but also a role model of filial. As an essential component of treatment to cure his mother’s illness, he had agreed to cut flesh from his thighs and fed it to his mother.
He allegedly helps people when they have hardships, saves those who are in trouble, has compassion for the lonely, forgives people's mistakes, and leaves peace and stability everywhere he goes. In general, we believed he is in charge of the elections of village leaders. Therefore, we pray to him especially when students having exams or candidates having upcoming elections.
